چکیده

Barley-based cropping systems (BCS) alter barley production by influencing weed infestation rates and soil nutrient dynamics. This two-year field study evaluated the interactive effects of five BCS control strategies (WCS) on properties growth yield barley. Barley was planted in different systems, i.e., fallow-barley (FB), maize-barley (MaB), cotton-barley (CB), mungbean-barley (MuB) sorghum-barley (SB). Similarly, WCS, weed-free (control, WF), weedy-check WC), false seedbeds (FS), chemical (CC) use allelopathic water extracts (AWE), were included study. The SB system had highest bulk density (1.48 1.47 g cm−3 during period 2017–2018 2018–2019, respectively) lowest total porosity (41.40 41.07% respectively). However, WCS remained non-significant for both years with WF a higher leaf area index (5.28 4.75) specific (65.5 64.9 cm−2 g−1) compared grown under WC. MuB WC values extractable NH4-N (5.42 5.58 mg kg−1), NO3-N (5.79 5.93 P (19.9 19.5 K (195.6 194.3 kg−1) statistically similar MaB FS. Grain ranged between 2.8–3.2 2.9–3.3 t ha−1 respectively, among WCS. grain 2.9–3.2 3.0–3.2 within BCS. Among (3.29 3.32 ha−1) along yield-related traits as to Overall, recorded better traits, whereas these FB systems. In conclusion, improved characteristics over other AWE significantly suppressed weeds equally effective control. Therefore, could be used improve productivity suppress infestation.

Weed control in organic horticultural cropping systems

A review of organic growers' concerns about weeds is presented and several issues that may ease those concerns are highlighted. The underlying principles of organic weed management (OWM) are briefly discussed and results from organic grower surveys regarding weed management practices in organic horticultural cropping are presented. The most common weeds encountered by organic growers, often tho...

Effect of tillage systems on weed infestation of durum wheat

Weed infestation of durum wheat was determined in the systems of conventional tillage(CT), reduced tillage (RT) and herbicide tillage (HT). Cultivations measures performed after theharvest of the previous crop included shallow ploughing (at a depth of 10-12 cm) and pre-winterploughing (25-30 cm) in the CT system; only field cultivation (10-15 cm) in the RT system; andspraying with glyphosate (R...

Cropping systems, tillage and fertilization strategies for durum wheat performance and soil properties

Many sustainable agronomical practices can be adopted to contain environmental risks of crop production and, at the same time, sustain yield and quality. In this framework, the aim of this research was to study the effects of continuous cropping (CC) and crop rotation, tillage and fertilization strategies on durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) production. The responses of soil properties we...
